Chief Architect can no longer find one or more plan files from which views have been sent. You may have moved or renamed the plan files(s) resulting in the broken link so that views sent from the plan can no longer be displayed in the layout.
In order to accurately show your design's overall size you need to print it to scale. Read more to learn how to do this and exactly what this means.
Creating construction documents in Home Designer Pro is easy. This article will show you how to use the layout feature to prepare your designs for printing.
The weight of a line refers to its thickness on the printed page and is described in absolute terms as a fraction of a unit, often 1/100th of a millimeter or 1/1000 of an inch. In Chief Architect and Home Designer Pro, line weights are assigned to objects, patterns, and layers using whole numbers that correspond to the numerator of this fraction. You can specify the Line Weight Scale by defining the denominator and the unit used in this fraction in the Drawing Sheet Setup dialog. If the Line Weight Scale in the plan is different than the layout, and you attempt to send a view from that plan to that layout, you may receive the error mentioned at the top of this article.
This message displays when you send a view to layout at a scale that will make it either taller than the layout drawing sheet's height or wider than its width.
Use the Backup Entire Plan/Layout tool found in the File menu to send a project, in its entirety, to a colleague, another Chief Architect user, or Chief Architect Technical Support.
Your operating system controls what programs open a particular file type. One way to edit an existing Home Designer Pro layout title block and border is to select all of the CAD and Text objects and resize them to fit the newly selected sheet size.
When you close one of these types of views and the view in question has been previously sent to layout, this message box may display, allowing you to choose whether to update the layout view or not.
The Project Browser is a convenient way to access all of the views that are present in a plan or layout file.
Cloud and network services are great for easily sharing files between colleagues. But before opening and working on Chief Architect files, make sure to copy or download the file to your local hard drive.
