I'm having trouble downloading the core catalogs for my program. How do I resolve the problem?

The most likely cause of a Library download failure is a firewall or security program preventing the download.

To add Chief Architect as an exception in your Mac firewall

  1. From the Apple  menu, select System Preferences.

  2. Select Security & Privacy.

System Preferences on a Mac computer

  3. Within the Security and Privacy section, select the Firewall tab and then click Firewall Options.

Note: If this option is greyed out, click the padlock icon in the bottom left corner of the dialog to unlock this option for modifications.

Accessing the Firewall Options located in the Security & Privacy section of the System Preferences

  4. This next dialog allows you to add or remove programs from the firewall list and configure how the firewall handles requests from these programs. Click the + sign at the bottom of the list to add a program.

Add a new connection to the Firewall Options

  5. Select the desired application to be allowed through the firewall.

  6. Verify that the program is set to Allow incoming connections.

Allow all incoming connections for a Chief Architect or Home Designer program

  7. After clicking OK, attempt the library download again by navigating to Library> Install Core Content in your Chief Architect program.
