Viewing and Sharing 360 Panorama Renderings

QUESTION

How do I view or share the 360° Panorama I have exported?

An example render of the 360 viewer.


ANSWER

The exported 360° Panorama can be viewed on our website or in any application that has been written to display panorama files.


To export a 360° Panorama in Home Designer 2019 and newer Products

  1. From the menu click 3D> Create Camera View> Full Camera . Click and drag to place the camera.
    *For Home Designer Pro, navigate to 3D> Create Perspective View> Full Camera.

    For best results, position the camera as close as you can to the center of the scene before exporting.

  2. From the menu, select File> Export> Export 360 Panorama .

    Note: A camera view must be open for the Export 360 Panorama option to be available. 


  3. In the Export 360 Panorama File dialog that appears:



    • Set the Width and Height of the Panorama

    • Check the Save to Chief Architect Cloud checkbox.

      If you would like to save a copy of your 360 Panorama rendering to your local hard drive, you can check the Save to Disk checkbox and specify a file path to save it to.

    • Give the Panorama rendering a Name and an optional Description.

    • Hit OK to start the export process to your Chief Architect Online Cloud Account.

      Note: You may be prompted to login to the Chief Architect Online Account associated with your Home Designer product. Enter the Email address and Password for your account to continue. If you're unable to export 360 Panoramas to your account, please contact us for further assistance.


  4. If the Panorama rendering was exported successfully, an Information dialog will display. Hit OK and proceed to viewing your 360 Panorama rendering within your account.


To export a 360° Panorama file in Home Designer 2018 Products

In Home Designer 2018 products, 360 Renderings must first be saved to a file on your computer before they can be viewed.

  1. From the menu click 3D> Create Camera View> Full Camera . Click and drag to place the camera.
    *For Home Designer Pro, 3D> Create Perspective View> Full Camera

    For best results, position the camera as near as you can to the center of the scene before exporting.

  2. From the menu, select File> Export> Export 360 Panorama .

    Note: A camera view must be open for the Export 360 Panorama option to be available. 


  3. Set the Width and Height to determine the size of the picture file, and click OK.




  4. Give the 360 Panorama rendering a name and save it in an easy to find location.


To view or Share a 360° Panorama using your Online Cloud Account in Home Designer 2019 and newer Products

  1. Navigate to: https://accounts.chiefarchitect.com/ and login to your Chief Architect Online Account.


  2. Within your Chief Architect Online Account, click on the Manage 360° Panoramas option.




  3. Click on the View button next to the Panorama rendering you want to view and scene will load.

    An Upload Panorama button is also available if you'd like to upload a Panorama rendering that is saved on your computer to the cloud.


  4. To share a rendering, click on the Make Public button next to a Panorama rendering and then click on the Share button.

    • The Direct Link tab reveals a link that can be copied and sent to someone to be viewed within a library browser such as Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla FireFox, or Apple Safari.

    • The Email tab contains details that can be copied/pasted into a newly created email that can then be sent to a colleague or client.

    • The Embed tab allows you to embed the 360 panorama rendering on your website using HTML, a ChiefTalk/HomeTalk forum post, or within a WordPress website.


To view a saved 360° Panorama rendering directly on our website

  1. Navigate to the following link: https://www.homedesignersoftware.com/products/360-viewer/


  2. Click on the Load Your 360° Rendering button. 


  3. Browse for and select a 360 Panorama rendering that is saved on your system. With the rendering now loaded, you can rotate and navigate within the scene.
