QUESTION

I have a vertical and horizontal line that follows my mouse cursor around. What are they and how can I get rid of them? How do I turn on/off the display of the cross hair cursor?

ANSWER

Objects can be aligned by eye using the mouse cross hairs as a reference. This method can help you draw, place and edit objects quickly. You can, however, turn this feature off, if desired, by following the instructions below.

Turning off the Cross Hairs in Home Designer 2014 and newer

  1. Select Edit> Preferences  if you're on a Windows PC or Home Designer> Preferences if you're on a Mac.

  2. Under the Edit panel, uncheck Enable in Plan and Elevation Views.

    • You can also adjust the Color, and Size (% of Window Width) of your cross hairs.

  3. Click OK to apply your changes.

To turn off the Cross Hairs in Home Designer 2012 and earlier versions

  1. Select Tools> Display Settings> Show Crosshairs .

When turned on a check-mark will display to the left of this option in the menu.
