QUESTION

I would like to create a bay, box or bow window using Home Designer. How can this be accomplished?

ANSWER

Bay, bow and box windows can be created automatically or manually using Home Designer.

To create a bay, bow, or box window automatically

  1. Select Build> Window> Bay Window , Box Window  or Bow Window .

  2. Once you have made your selection, click once on the wall in which you would like to add the window.

  3. Using the Select Objects  tool, click on the Bay Window to select it, and use the edit handles to increase its width and distance from the house.

Windows in automatic bay, bow, or box windows are created using your Default Window settings, however, you can also adjust these component windows after they are placed.

To edit the individual component windows

  1. To edit the individual component windows that are placed using the bay, box, or bow window tools, first click on the window with the Select Objects  tool.

  2. Notice that the entire bay, box, or bow window selects first.  To select just the window itself, select either the Next  edit tool or press the Tab key on your keyboard.

You can also use this same procedure while in a 3D Camera view in order to select the individual component window.

  3. Once the Window is selected, you can use its edit handles, and also choose the Open Object  edit tool to modify the properties of just that individual component window.
