I would like to change the color and textures for a room, including the walls, floors, ceilings, and moldings from plan view. How is this accomplished?
While creating a plan using Home Designer, you may want to change the color or texture of walls, floors, ceilings, or moldings in a room. This article describes using the Room Specification dialog to change these settings.
To change the color and texture of room components from the plan view
Click the Select Objects tool on the toolbar, click the room, then click on the Open Object edit button to display the Room Specification dialog.
On the Materials panel.Click and select a room component on the left (i.e., Walls, Floor Covering, Ceiling Covering or Moldings).
Click the Select Material button to display the Select Library Object dialog, click a material category from the drop-down menu in the upper left corner.
Scroll to the desired material and click once to select it. A preview of the material will display.
Note:If a plan has been started with a particular template, it may already have some of these objects pre-defined with certain materials. To have complete control over editing these options, start a plan using the Default style template.
Click OK to close the Select Library Object dialog.
Repeat Steps these steps for each additional room component to change a texture or color.
Click the OK button to close the Room Specification dialog. The color and texture will be visible in any 3D view.
