QUESTION

When I go to draw a wall or line in my floor plan view, it looks jagged and crooked. Why are these objects drawing off-angle, and how can I correct this behavior so that they draw straight?

ANSWER

If your walls and lines are drawing crooked, this indicates that you have turned off your Angle Snaps, perhaps unintentionally by pressing the F10 key on your keyboard, which is the hotkey associated with this toggle.

To toggle Angle Snaps

  1. In your plan, select Edit> Snap Settings> Angle Snaps .

When this feature is toggled on, a checkmark will display next to it in the menu.

  2. Once you have turned Angle Snaps back on, you should now be able to draw straight walls and lines, and correct any existing walls or lines that were drawn slightly off-angle by either deleting and replacing them, or opening up each and every individual one's Specification dialog and correcting the Angle.

For walls, the Angle will be corrected on the General panel of the Wall Specification dialog.

For Lines, the Angle will be corrected on the Line panel of the Line Specification dialog.
