I would like to delete an unwanted floor or delete my foundation within Home Designer. How do I accomplish this?

After creating a plan, you may want to rebuild or remove a floor or foundation. To rebuild a floor or foundation in a plan, the existing floor or foundation must first be deleted.

Use the procedure in this article to delete an unwanted floor or foundation. For the purposes of this article, your plan will need to have a first floor, second floor and a foundation.

To delete a floor

  1. To delete the second floor, you must first go to the second floor. To do this, click on the Up One Floor button on the toolbar until the second floor is active. Once you are on floor two, the Change Floor/Reference will show the number 2

  2. Next, from the menu select Build> Floor> Delete Current Floor and the contents of Floor 2 will be removed.

  3. Once you return to floor one, you must build a new second floor to return to the second floor level.

Note: Floor 1 cannot be deleted using this method.  To delete the contents of the first floor, you need to group select and delete the objects.

To delete the foundation

  1. From the menu select Build> Floor> Delete Foundation and the contents of Floor 0 will be removed.

  2. To rebuild the foundation, select Build> Floor> Build Foundation .
