I received this warning message:
"Deck is over a non deck room. Framing may not be correct"
What does it mean and how can I correct my plan so I no longer receive this warning?
A Deck room is an exterior-type room that uses deck planking and framing to create a floor platform rather than using a floor finish that spans the entire room area.
When a Deck room is created, the floor platform is modeled using joists, beams, posts, and planking as specified in the Deck Room Defaults dialog. This warning will display when you have specified a Room Type as "Deck" and part of the structure on the floor below is not also specified as a Deck.
The easiest way to eliminate this warning is to locate the room which is specified as a "Deck" causing the warning, open the Room Specification dialog, and change the Room Type.
In many cases, "Balcony" is an appropriate option which can be used instead.
If desired, you can change the Room Name so that "Deck" displays in your 2D floor plan view, even if this is not set as the Room Type.
