I would like to create a bay window with a bench seat and a lowered ceiling above it, how can I draw this using the bay window tool?
You can create the bay window seat using a couple of simple steps in the 3D view after placing the bay window and adjusting to the desired size.
This guide is also applicable to box and bow windows, but we will focus on a bay window for this example.
To place a bay window
From the menu, select Build> Window> Bay Window and place it in the wall.
Select the bay window and drag it wider, then deeper to achieve the desired size.
The small square handle where the window meets the wall adjust the width while the diamond handle on the central window adjusts the depth.
To turn off the display of dimensions on your automatically placed bay window, select the windows and click on the Open Object edit button to display the Window Specification dialog then place a check mark next to Suppress Dimensions and click OK.
Creating the seat inside the bay window
From the menu, select 3D> Create Camera View> Full Camera and click and drag from within the room to take a 3D view of the bay window from the inside.
Using the Select Objects tool in your 3D Camera view, click on the bay window to select it.
If you select the room first, use the Next edit button, or press the Tab key on your keyboard until the bay window is selected.
Mouse over the handle at the top of the bay window, then click & drag it down to lower the ceiling of the bay.
Use the edit handle at the bottom to drag the bottom of the bay up and create the seat for the bay window.
