QUESTION

When I add a new cabinet to my plan and attempt to add glass doors to it, I am not able to select the Glass Doors option, as it is grayed out in the Front tab. How do I make glass doors when the option is grayed out other than selecting a glass door from the Library?

ANSWER

You will not be able to select the Glass Doors option in the Cabinet Front tab until you go to the General tab and make a selection for Door Style.

To add a glass door to a cabinet

  1. From the menu, select Build> Cabinet> Base Cabinet , and click in your plan to place a base cabinet.

  2. Next, use the Select Objects tool to select the cabinet, and click on the Open Object edit button to display the Base Cabinet Specification dialog box.

  3. In Home Designer Pro, version 10 and newer, select the Door/Drawer panel, and under Door Style, use the drop down menu to select Slab Doors, which allows you to check the Glass Doors Option.

In Home Designer Pro 9.0 and prior, on the General tab, click the drop down arrow beside Door Style and choose Plain Doors.

Additionally, there is a selection of Glass Door styles that you can select by using the Library button located next to the Door Style.

  4. When you have finished making changes, click OK to apply them and close the dialog.
