1. Flooring
Choosing a wood floor that has a wood plank texture will make your floor look more realistic.
2. Moldings
Adding a molding to your room will give it a finished look. Open the room specification dialog and enter a height for the crown molding and a molding will be added where the wall meets the ceiling.
3. Furniture
Choose furniture that compliments each other by paying attention to the style and color of each piece. Placement in the room is key to avoiding clutter and overcrowding and keeping all pathways free. Use a combination of the floorplan view and the render view to visualize how your furniture will be placed. For a good rendering choose furniture colors that provide contrast with walls, floors and other surfaces so your items can be easily seen.
4. Accessories
Placing accessories will add life and realism to your render. Choose your accessories based upon items that would naturally be used in your room. Use materials that compliment your furniture and wall colors. The eyedropper tool is a good choice for matching colors and creating custom materials.
5. Window treatments
Choose window treatments that compliment the style of room you are designing and fabric that is either a shade darker or lighter than your walls in order for them to show well in a render.
